At Honeybunch Community CIC, the safety, privacy, and wellbeing of our families, children, volunteers, and staff are our top priorities.
We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone involved in our activities — both online and in person.
1. Safeguarding Overview
We are dedicated to protecting children, young people, and adults at risk from harm or abuse.
All directors, staff, and volunteers follow our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures, which meet national safeguarding standards.
Any concerns about a child, young person, or vulnerable adult are taken seriously and acted upon immediately and confidentially, following statutory requirements.
2. Safeguarding Team
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Kay, who has over 20 years’ experience in education and safeguarding.
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Denita, who is one of our directors and very active in the virtual village group chat, as well as present at most in person events.
Honeybunch also has a dedicated safeguarding team with trained representatives present at all events and active in our Virtual Village group chat.
This team:

Ensures all concerns are managed appropriately and in line with legislation.
3. GDPR & Privacy Policy
Honeybunch Community CIC complies fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We protect all personal information collected from members, participants, and website users.
Data is only used for community communications, event registration, and internal administration — and is never shared with third parties without consent, unless required by law.
You have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your personal data.

All concerns are treated confidentially and followed up in line with statutory procedures.
In an emergency situation, concerns are reported immediately to the relevant local authorities or emergency services.

All Honeybunch directors, staff, and volunteers receive regular safeguarding and GDPR training.
Our safeguarding team also participates in ongoing professional development to ensure our practices meet current legislation and best-practice standards.

8. Conflict of Interest Statement
The Honeybunch Community CIC operates in line with a formal Conflict of Interest Policy, ensuring that all decisions are made fairly and always in the best interests of our community.
All directors and team members are required to declare any personal, financial, or professional interests that could influence their decision-making.
Declarations are recorded and managed in accordance with our governance procedures, as set out in our Articles of Association and Governance Policy. All of our directors are unrelated and all have equal voting rights when it comes to making any decisions for the CIC.
